What the course covers

1) Initiating and planning the AIMS project

  • Project mandate, leadership commitment, stakeholders and planning.
  • Build a highlevel PID and a RACI for roles and communication.
  • Analyse organisational factors that help or hinder success.

2) Scope, context and governance

  • Define AIMS scope and boundaries using internal and external factors.
  • Set governance structures, responsibilities and operational requirements across the AI lifecycle.

3) Aligning with existing management systems

  • Map overlaps with ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
  • Identify integration opportunities and coordinate change control and incident management.

4) Ethics and responsible AI

  • Apply fairness, accountability, transparency and human oversight.
  • Embed ethical requirements into policies, design and deployment, and evaluate social impact.

5) Risk assessment 

  • Identify AI specific threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate risk across lifecycle stages, and select treatments and controls.
  • Develop the risk register, SoA and risk treatment plan (aligned with ISO 31000 principles).

6) Impact assessment 

  • Assess legal, ethical and societal impacts.
  • Evaluate fairness, discrimination, explainability and human rights risks.
